What People Misunderstand About Achieving Success
Nothing worth achieving is ever easy. Nor is it fast. To achieve anything of meaning you need to have time and dedication.
Nothing worth achieving is ever easy. Nor is it fast. To achieve anything of meaning you need to have time and dedication. Then, and only then, might you get to stand on the podium, collect the awards, hear the praise or accumulate whatever accolades and rewards you want.
The mistake people make is that they look at the result and they think that they want it. And maybe they do. But, wanting that isn't going to be much use.
You see, it's no good craving the result. You have to crave the process that leads to the result.
And that process is mostly going to be carried out alone, away from any limelight, without anyone to cheer you along. It will rarely feel like success. More often it will feel like a grind. Just getting the reps in. Day after day after day.
But, if you can learn to love the process, then you get the best of all worlds. You enjoy what you do every day, which means you get better with time, which means you give yourself a better chance of achieving the results you want.
And, even if you don't get to stand on the podium, you still enjoyed all the days you practiced. Which I think is pretty cool. Don't you?
Have a wonderful day, Stephen
My conversation about perimenopause yesterday with Dr Catherine Coward was fascinating. You can find it on YouTube.
