Have You Found Your Meaning? Plus an Exclusive Offer
Previously, I had prioritised things like status and security in my life. Which led to status and security, but not fulfilment. Other people prioritise money or busyness, only to find that it doesn't lead to the work or life they want.
Just before we get into today's post, don't miss the Exclusive HeRO Circle Launch below 👇🏻
Imagine this. You wake up in the morning with a smile on your face. You slept well and are rested.
Your contentment settles on you as you go about your morning routine. And your mind starts to fill with thoughts of your work to be done as you sip your coffee.
As you get into your tasks, you see a message from a client. They are happy with the work you have done and thank you for it.
And so you start to do your work with flow and ease. It is challenging, but you like this specific kind of challenge. It suits your personality.
After a while you step back and look upon what you have achieved. It's good. You are proud. You have mastered your craft.
Which is really useful, because there are more people looking for your services. You reflect on your journey and realise that you are in demand and well rewarded.
As the day winds to a close you feel blessed to be able to earn a good living in this way. Your head hits the pillow as you smile and fall into a blissful sleep.
Like always.
How does this sound to you?
I imagine it sounds like a future you would like to attain. If it is pretty much your life today, I am happy for you.
This story is to illustrate the Japanese concept of Ikigai, which translates as "reason to live".
A different way to think about it is that you can find contentment when you do work that:
- You can be paid for
- The world needs
- You are good at
- You enjoy
I think that I can honestly say that coaching has helped me to find my Ikigai. While my life isn't quite as smooth as the story I told, many elements of it are true.
Previously, I had prioritised things like status and security in my life. Which led to status and security, but not fulfilment. Other people prioritise money or busyness, only to find that it doesn't lead to the work or life they want.
This is often the case with my clients too. Like Simon (not their real name), who I helped last year. He was lost and drifting, but we helped him to see where he could find his true meaning.
In his case, he didn't need to change career, he just needed to reprioritise and refocus his attention. Now he is thriving again.
You could be like Simon too, if you find your Ikigai.

Exclusive HeRO Circle Launch
A HeRO Circle is an exclusive, curated space for serious business owners.
It's not a mastermind. It’s about group wisdom, not just one person’s expertise.
It requires carefully balanced personalities, experiences, and skills.
It has to be invitation-only to ensure the right mix of commitment and contribution. You can't just buy access without screening.
It can't be too large, so that bonds and trust can form. There is a maximum of 8 people in a circle.
I have unique experience and training to facilitate and enable effective conversations and deep learning in a circle. I'm part coach, trainer and mentor to the group.
People who join get support to move from income streams to serious businesses. They experience profound emotional and professional outcomes.
I am about to begin a new HeRO Circle with a small number of online business owners. The combination of skills is outstanding. Which is why they want to invest.
We don't need any more members to make it work. But there could be a space for one more person with the right profile.
And so, if you are running a coaching business, a PR or marketing business, or something similar, and this sounds like something you need, get in touch.
I am only going to mention this once. And this is it. So if you are interested, respond.
We start at the beginning of February, so there is no time to waste.
